In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Sparkling or Still.”
“What’s your idea of a perfect day off: one during which you can quietly relax, doing nothing, or one with one fun activity lined up after the other? Tell us how you’d spend your time.”
A day off? What’s that? Wait! Hang on… I think I remember…Oh yeah! It’s a brief channel change from the regularly scheduled programming of working to pay the bills. Unfortunately, it’s been a long while since I’ve changed that particular channel (which is nobody’s fault but my own). In the event that I ever do, I suppose that perfect day to myself would involve Norman Reedus, a remote island, and an endless supply of chardonnay. But since Fantasy Island does not actually exist, then that day would involve something a little less exciting and a lot more accessible – a large cup of coffee, my imagination, and a solitary stroll through an old cemetery by a river in early spring or autumn. Serene. Simple. Satisfying (even if Norman can’t tag along).
Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming ….
